Best eSIM for Thailand from the UAE

How to choose a Thailand plan, how much data a typical Bangkok-and-islands trip uses, and what to set up before you fly.

Updated 5 Aug 2026

The short answer

For most travellers flying Dubai to Bangkok, a mid-sized 30-day plan is the right size, and Airalo, aloSIM, eSIMPal and Nomad all list verified Thailand options at that size. Live AED prices and our current Best Overall and Best Value picks are on the Thailand destination page.

Matching the plan to the trip

A four-night Bangkok city break rarely needs more than 5 GB. A two-week trip combining Bangkok with Phuket or Koh Samui involves far more navigation, ride-hailing and photo uploading, which is where 10 GB earns its keep.

If you are working remotely from Chiang Mai, look at 20 GB or 50 GB rather than topping up repeatedly.

What to do before you fly

Install the profile at home over Wi-Fi, keep it switched off, and disable data roaming on your UAE line. When you land, enable the travel line, turn on roaming for that line only, and set it as your data SIM.
